A Noble Radiance: Chapel of Our Lady of Ephesus
The Adoremus Bulletin profiled the newly completed Chapel of Our Lady of Ephesus at the Kansas City diocesan chancery in September 2013. Author Brian W. MacMichael documented the design process and the liturgical program that shaped the chapel’s spatial organization — including Bill’s account of the floor emblem, which depicts the Immaculate Conception through a layered system of Marian symbols.
The chapel is one of the firm’s most complete early projects: a small space in which proportion, light, material, and iconography work together without any element pulling against the others.
