Clear Creek Abbey: Twenty-Five Years and New Renderings
This spring marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the monks of Fontgombault establishing the Abbey of Our Lady of the Annunciation at Clear Creek in Hulbert, Oklahoma. What began with a small community arriving on a wooded hillside in the Ozarks has grown, stone by stone, into one of the most significant works of new monastic construction in the United States.
New renderings prepared this year show the monastery at full completion — the permanent chapter building, dormitory wings, guest facilities, and the church as it will read against the landscape when the program is fully realized. Twenty-five years of patient building. Many more to come.
